SCHOLARSHIPS

The Hamilton-Wenham Athletic Hall of Fame is committed to the continued excellence of Hamilton-Wenham Student-Athletes. As our organization grows, we will continue to increase the scholarship opportunities to our student athletes.

CLASS OF 2024 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 
LEAH COFFEY - BAYLOR UNIVERSITY

Leah was a two sport standout at the Regional. On the soccer field, Leah was a part of a State Championship team and 3 league titles. An integral part of the girls basketball team, Leah was a leader by example. Always a tough and true competitor, Leah is best known for her contagious smile and her ability to pick her teammates up. We wish Leah the best of luck at Baylor University.

CLASS OF 2024 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 
TIMMY BECKER - ELECTRICAL TRADE SCHOOL

Timmy was a two sport athlete at the Regional. As the captain of the golf team, he was a great leader to a young team despite not being able to play his senior year recovering from a fractured leg. His commitment to his team and good natured personality made him a well respected leader in the H-W Community. Recipient of the 2024 Regional Prize for an individual overcoming adversity, we are pleased to award Timmy Becker one of our two annual scholarships.

CLASS OF 2023 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

ABBY SIMON - BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY

Abby was a two sport standout at the Regional. On the tennis court, Abby helped guide the Generals to two straight CAL Championships and a Division IV State Title in 2022. An outstanding athlete and person, Abby was named first team Cape Ann League All Star her senior year.


Captain of the basketball team as a senior, she was known for her tenacious defense and rebounding ability. She was an integral part of the team's success. over the past four years.

CLASS OF 2023 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 
BRENDAN DALTON - TRADE SCHOOL

A committed athlete who was a stalwart in off season workouts with the football team. Helped set the example of excellence for a young team. Dedicated to the wrestling team despite having to travel to another town to practice daily. Brendan was a Northeast Conference Champion and New England qualifier in his weight class.

CLASS OF 2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

JACKIE CHAPDELAINE - UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

Jackie was the anchor of the defense of two CAL Championship and Division 4 State Championship team.   During her tenure at the Regional, Jackie was named to the Cape Ann All-League Team, Eastern MA First Team All Star, and the  All-State Team.


Jackie's displayed amazing grit and determination in her one on one defending.  Standing just over five feet tall, Jackie always defended the strongest forward on the other team, regardless of the size or strength of the opponent.  Once again, she earned Cape-Ann, Eastern MA, and All-State honors.  Her even-keeled personality made her nomination stick out.

CLASS OF 2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

ELI LABELL - ROGER WILLIAMS UNIVERSITY

​​Eli was a CAL All League Runner and State All Star in Cross Country in the 2021 season. During the 2022 track campaign, Eli led his 4 x 800 relay team to first place in the Division 6 competition.

 

Described by Coach Sawyer as one of the most dedicated, committed, and thoughtful athletes he has ever coached. 

​

Eli will be taking his running career to Roger Williams in the fall of 2022!

CLASS OF 2021 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

SARAH COOKE - BATES COLLEGE

Sarah was a three sport varsity athlete for the Generals. She collected five Cape-Ann League First Team All-Stars in softball, basketball, and field hockey and served as captain in all three sports.

​

Sarah's strong work ethic, sportsmanship, and her ability to play at a high level while making her teammates better made her an easy choice for this scholarship.

​

Sarah will play softball for Bates College.

CLASS OF 2021 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

CARTER COFFEY - BOSTON COLLEGE

​

Carter is one of the few athletes in Generals history to letter in four sports. His senior year he was captain of the baseball, basketball, and soccer teams, as well as the quarterback of the football team during the shortened Fall-2 Season.

​

Carter is not only a tremendous athlete, but a great leader with tremendous sportsmanship. He is quick to compliment an opponent or help them off the floor.

​

We wish Carter the best at Boston College this fall!

CLASS OF 2020 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

BELLE DOLAN - UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI

Belle served as a two sport captain for the Generals, one year in soccer and two years in basketball.


She was a CAL All-Star in Soccer sophomore year, but lost her entire junior year in athletics due to an ACL injury. She worked hard to rehab and earned a CAL All-Star honorable mention her senior year in both soccer and basketball.

​

A four year varsity player and three year starter in soccer, as well as a four year varsity basketball player, and a three year varsity lacrosse player.

​

As Coach Cole wrote in his nomination, "In my 30 years of coaching, Belle is one of the most competitive, tenacious, and intense players I have had the pleasure of coaching."


Her spirit, tenacity, and dedication to athletics despite a harrowing injury made Belle an excellent choice for this year's scholarship.

CLASS OF 2020 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

KEEGAN O'SHEA - MICHIGAN STATE

Keegan was a three sport captain at H-W, in Soccer, Hockey (junior and senior year) and Baseball. During his junior year he was voted as the MVP  in baseball and was selected as First-Team All League as well as a Salem News All-Star as a catcher


Keegan was a three year starter for the Generals' Hockey program and played four years on varsity. During the fall, Keegan played two years of varsity soccer. 

​

Keegan's work ethic and leadership were recognized by all three of his coaches in being nominated for this award

​

CLASS OF 2019 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT: 

PAUL HORGAN - UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND

Paul was a three sport athlete for the Generals playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. He led the Generals baseball team to a North Title his junior year while throwing two no-hitters.


Paul's gritty and hard-nose playing on the court and field best exemplifies the tenacity, spirit, and commitment that the HWHOF scholarship represents.
